Boylesque new talent

No, think again, burlesque is not just a women's issue ! The boylesque exclusively male thus reappeared and developed in recent years with the contemporary revival of the genre, the new burlesque, attracting male artists from various backgrounds : actors, dancers, acrobats, magicians, etc. Jay C. part of them. After 5 years to turn into the biggest circuses in Europe, where he had a hand-to-hand act, this handbalancer chose to explore the ways of boylesque with a unique number to be presented in preview at Paris burlesque festival.

Che Guerazade : You first began your career in the circus. How did you get into burlesque ?

Jay C. : By chance. At age 19, I went to the circus school in Lyon. I had to separate myself from my carrier in hand to hand and I 've created a single number, a handstand act. I went home, listened to the answering machine, reading the newspaper, going to brush my teeth (on my balance camouflaged sink structure), rode in balance above, took off all my clothes, and fell on my bed. That's the story...
Then I found a carrier in hand to hand, and have never had the opportunity of performing with this issue. It was not until a few months ago I told myself that I would turn to the Burlesque...

C. G. : The boylesque seems to be a rather recent phenomenon. How do you explain this new craze for burlesque men ?

J. C. : Personally, I do not know, discovering this world for the first time. I've always been attracted to comedy acts without words. Undressing in front of people (preferably female) is a simple and effective way for me to combine humor and seduction side that are dear to me.
Recently, I played for a party hosted by Juliette Dragon, and she told me as boylesque. I went on the internet what it meant, and I found : show consisting of stripping a stripper so funny and light. This is quite right.

C. G. : What are your influences, your models ?

J. C. : As I said, I have not really had a role model or influence far, knowing absolutely nothing in the world of Burlesque. I always felt like a " UFO " in the circus. I worked with my "flaws", my shyness, my modesty, and it made it ! I had the pleasure, there is no long, to see Dirty Martini video. A real treat ! I can not wait to discover this new world...

C. G. : What are your plans after the Paris Burlesque Festival ?

J. C. : To be honest, after this is unknown. I expect much of the Paris Burlesque Festival... However, I was fortunate to have been selected for the Hollywood Burlesque Festival which takes place early December in... Hollywood ! I will try to go ! In parallel, several "project ideas" are emerging, including a pair of clowns with a friend. We will see more... I'd love to be part of this erotic art movement, this form of political cabaret that opened up for me, and has a bright future ahead of him, I hope...
